Below are 3 ways that will improve your already awesome POS when it comes to marketing, customer service and raising businesses profit without hiring some marketing firm. This will keep customers loyal, make them want to come back and encourage them to tell their friends. I think if you were to add these features, you should raise your price, because the marketing tools I am suggesting below are worth it.
Here is a wish list that is targeted towards marketing:
1. Maximize your sale:
In the customer screen that pops up when you choose a customer have their average order price. If my employee see that an average order by this customer is $90, then is gives the employee more ammo to up-sale and suggest higher end products and not a $25 product. To take this a step further, if you wanted to, have the last product they bought show there too, with the price. I.E. Bruce’s Average sales is $58 and the last thing he bought was $88 – Doz Roses.
2. A list builder:
A query that returns a customer’s address and/or email address that lets you pin point a niche market. Tell the query that you want all address’s/emails that have bought “Product X” last year. Now that you have these addresses, you mail them with a SALE ON PRODUCT X!
and
Set up future automatic mailing list emails. It would look like: mail list number 1 on Dec. 1 telling them all snow tires are on sale for the coming winter! Your mailing list number 1 would be those you chose who buys tires. OR automatically create mailing lists though a query…. I.E. – give me all those who spent over $100 on tires last year and put them in mailing list 301. Here is two other examples: You could find all of the people who routinely spend more than $100 and give them a special coupon or you could find the people who spend more than $500 in a year to invite them to an open house.
3. An Ad tracker:
This feature helps to generate sales in a different way. It shows you how effective each of your advertising efforts are so that you can spend your advertising budget more effectively. For instance it might show you that spending $100 a month for an ad in the local weekly generates more business that a $200 per month yellow pages ad. By spending more on the weekly and less on the yellow pages you can increase your sales and/or decrease your advertising costs.
If anyone else wants to add a marketing wish list feature, post it up!
